On May 28, 2025, the Talk2Me Foundation, in collaboration with Chance 2 Mental Health and Recovery Hub Ghana Foundation and other esteemed partners, hosted the Cycle Care Project at Sarpeiman Church of Pentecost to mark International Menstrual Hygiene Day. Held from 9:00 AM, the event embraced the theme “Creating a World Where Every Girl Has Access to Safe and Dignified Menstrual Hygiene Management” — together for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld.

The day began with registration and an opening prayer by Victoria Akuoku, setting a reflective tone. Doreen Korassa introduced the chairperson, followed by the moderator acknowledging the dignitaries in attendance. Madam Margaret Akpabli, Municipal SHEP Coordinator, outlined the gathering’s purpose, while Ampem Darkowaa Sarfo provided an overview of the Cycle Care Project. Key presentations included:

The program featured a poetry recital by Nancy Kekeli Anagbla, a sex education session by Ms. Lisa Otis of Lela Clinic, and a personal development talk by the Spread Love Foundation. The Talk2Me Foundation added a vibrant choreography performance, engaging the audience. A Q&A session with prizes, partner recognition, and a call to action with pledges followed, culminating in the distribution of Cycle Care Packs. Closing remarks by Madam Patricia Acheampong SISO and a vote of thanks by Goodness Agyei Joy concluded the formal program, with refreshments and photography sessions rounding out the day. A screening session and Talk2Me session in Part Two extended the event’s reach.
Community Impact
Over 300 attendees, including girls from the local community, benefited from educational content and received hygiene supplies, symbolized by a young participant showcasing Relio’s super soft cotton sanitary pads, sponsored by Lela Clinic. Partners like AGIT, The HuD Group, and others reinforced a united effort toward menstrual equity and mental well-being, core to Chance 2’s mission.
Looking Ahead
Though the event has passed, its impact endures. Chance 2 remains committed to advancing menstrual hygiene education and mental health support, with plans for future initiatives to sustain a #PeriodFriendlyWorld. Stay tuned for updates.
